Or are they just ‘chunky’ and lacking in soft lustre and ambiance?

Promoting Wood Plantation Shutters FOR GOOD REASON!

So what’s wrong with PVC Shutters?

Aren’t they cheaper? How long do they last?

PLASTIC LOOK OR NATURAL?

DSC00993 1200The reflection of light from 2pac coated timber is subtle but vitally different. PVC, a petroleum product, inevitably loses its shine and colour in much less time.

PRICE COMPARISON.

Wood will cost a lot more right? No.

Pro-Wood Shutters are similar in price to better quality PVC/Poly such as the brand name ‘Thermalite’. The cheaper the PVC, the sooner it will yellow, and the more likely it will be to sag at high temperatures. Not so for Engineered Timber. With a 2pac coating your shutters last 5 times longer.

WHY YOU SHOULD BE SKEPTICAL WHEN BUYING PVC

It doesn’t last. It doesn’t look as good. It has bigger gaps. It changes colour faster. It expands 10 times more than wood! It is limited to 750 mm panels or it will jam or sag in the heat …. and in 10 to 15 years, you throw it away. Not so if it is Engineered Timber!

The next set of photographs are of a home in Runaway Bay which uses a solid dark colour to advantage. Video also. Note one difference to the home in question is the walls are a lighter colour in this one.

‘No Gaps’!

Hidden Hinges!

Unique to Pro-Wood Shutters is an entirely new type of mount.

Forget bulky frames and large hinges. Wood shutters lend themselves to a customised close fit to your window opening. It looks like there is a seemless transition between the architrave and the panel. “No Gaps” is our secret and it is patent pending.

No Mid Rail!

For long drop panels.

The Mid Rail is optional. Without a Mid Rail, the panel looks more elegant. All louvres can be opened and closed together maintaining alignment. Exclusive to Pro-Wood Plantation Shutters.

  2. Assemble them from Pre-painted Kits. A little over half installed cost.
  3. Do the lotassemble, paint, fit save more than half the cost of shutters.

Wide Width Panels

Why block up your view with lots of narrow panels? PVC is strictly limited to a maximum of 750 mm and that is exactly what you’ll unwittingly receive. The panel in this photo, being engineered timber, is a whopping 1050 mm. Result – better view, less bulk!DSC06371a

… Chris has been very helpful to us from measurement phase (Paul who took the measurement is so nice as well) up to quotation and installation. It took a while for me to decide since I was hesitant to permanently use shutters in our windows but I am glad we did! To be honest, I wish I have done it earlier ….
